History

Established in the late 1920's and incorporated in 1935, our company has grown by merging with other long established local businesses such as Tom Wright (Radio) and Spicers of Coventry, making us the largest independent retailer in the area. Our head office is still on its original site in Foleshill. In addition, we have a branch in Ashboume, Derbyshire, trading as Cornerhouse.

INTERNET
[Buying Electrical Goods on the Net can damage your pocket]
WARNING At the present time we cannot recommend buying products over the Internet having listened to some of our customers experiences. Here are some of the problems:

1. Security of credit card information should not be taken for granted. Information given can be intercepted and used fraudulently, a bit like someone overhearing a telephone conversation. If you do decide to give your details make sure you have connected to a secure Internet site.
2. Buying products at fantastic prices can sometimes end in tears, before you buy ask the following questions.
a) Do you know the Company you are about to deal with?
b) Are they trustworthy and reputable?
c) Do they actually have the stock you require and how long will you have to wait for delivery after you have paid? Some times it can be longer than you might expect.
d) Have you checked that the price you are paying, including delivery charges, is less than your independent retailer, it often isn't?
e) What happens if the product is faulty? Did you know that you would also be responsible for the cost of returning it? f) What about if the replacement is no better, or it is complicated to operate, will you get the level of support you need? Some goods are bought easily and problem free over the Internet (Books, CD's, Flights. Concert Tickets, etc.) however, more complex items can often turn out to be a disaster, please buy with care.
